Terms/AGB
These are the terms (the “Agreement”) that govern your attendance at and/or participation in an “Verein TEDxLinz - Verein zur Verbreitung innovativer Ideen” (collectively referred to herein as “TEDxLinz”) event (the “Event”). By registering for the Event you are agreeing to these terms, which form a legal contract between TEDxLinz and the registered attendee and/or participant (“you”). If you are registering on behalf of another it is your responsibility to ensure that the person attending is aware of these terms and accepts them, and by completing the registration you are warranting that you have made the attendee aware of these terms and that they have accepted these terms.
1. Event admission
1.1. Personal Information
You hereby confirm that all the data provided during the registration process of the Event is correct, including legal name(s), email adress(es) and age(s); and you are entitled/have the right to use it in this context.
1.2. Admittance
Your registration entitles you to admittance to the Event. Any and all other costs associated with your attendance (including without limitation any travel and/or accommodation expenses) shall be borne solely by you and TEDxLinz shall have no liability for such costs.
1.3. Termination
You acknowledge that TEDxLinz and the employees of the venue reserve the right to request your removal from the Event if TEDxLinz, in its sole discretion, considers your presence and/or behavior to create a disruption or to hinder the Event and/or the enjoyment of the Event by other attendees or speakers.
1.4. Media
With the purchase of a TEDxLinz tickets, consent is automatically given that photos and videos of the participants may be taken at TEDxLinz and published in the following media: TEDxLinz homepage; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram pages TEDxLinz; general TED and TEDx media (in particular www.ted.com, international TEDx YouTube channel); press products (e.g. magazine articles, press releases etc.); advance announcements for further TEDxLinz events (e.g. social media, image trailers etc.); in the context of presentations and lectures to further disseminate the TEDxLinz concept (e.g. for sponsorship acquisition);
In the course of this consent, it was pointed out that the photos and videos taken at the event can be accessed worldwide when published on the Internet or in social networks. Further use and/or modification by third parties cannot be ruled out.
Unless consent is revoked, it is valid for an unlimited period of time. Consent can be revoked with effect for the future. 1.5. Event Content
You acknowledge and agree that TEDxLinz, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Event, including but not limited to, the Event name, themes, content, program, speakers, performers, hosts, moderators, venue and time.
1.6 Age
Participants must be over the age of 14 - at the request of TEDxLinz, the participant must present identification.
2. Fees
2.1. Payment
The payment of the applicable fee(s) for the Event is due upon registration. If such payment is insufficient or declined for any reason TEDxLinz may refuse to admit you to the Event and shall have no liability in that regard.
2.2. Taxes
The fee(s) may be subject to sales tax, value added tax, or any other taxes and duties which, if applicable, will be charged to you in addition to the fee(s).
3. Substitution and cancellation policy
3.1 Refund
TEDxLinz regrets that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
TEDxLinz reserves the right to cancel ticket bookings which either business reasonably suspects to have been made fraudulently.
3.2 Substitution and cancellation
TEDxLinz reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event for any reason without any liability for the fulfilment of this contract and all fees paid by the vendor shall be either credited to future events or refunded. TEDxLinz shall notify the attendees as soon as possible.
Refunds shall be subject to a max. 3% administrative processing fee for the payment service.
Refunds shall be issued back to the debit/credit card used for payment or by bank transfer
4. Privacy policy
4.1. TEDxLinz is operated under the license of the TED Conferences, LLC and acts as a completely autonomous and independent non profit organization which is committed to protecting the privacy of its community. TEDxLinz is a non profit organization, operating from Linz, Austria and operates a strict privacy policy, which is available at:

5. Intellectual property
5.1. All intellectual property rights in and to the Event, the Event content and all materials distributed at or in connection with the Event are owned by TEDxLinz, its license provider TED Conferences, LLC and/or the Event sponsors or speakers presenting at the Event. You may not use or reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any trademarks (including without limitation “TEDxLinz”, “TED Conferences”, “TED Talks”, “TEDx” and “TEDx Talks”) or other trade names appearing at the Event, in any Event content and/or in any materials distributed at or in connection with the Event for any reason without the prior written permission of TED Conferences, LLC.
5.2. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to vest in you any legal or beneficial right in or to any trade marks or other intellectual property rights owned or used under licence by TEDxLinz, TED Conferences, LLC or any of its affiliates or grant to you any right or licence to any other intellectual property rights of TEDxLinz, TED Conferences, LLC or its affiliates, all of which shall at all times remain the exclusive property of TEDxLinz, TED Conferences, LLC and its affiliates.
6. Warranties and limitation of liability
6.1. TEDxLinz gives no warranties in respect of any aspect of the Event or any materials related thereto or offered at the Event and, to the fullest extent possible under the laws governing this Agreement, disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness and merchantability. Neither TEDxLinz nor its affiliates can accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the Event and/or any information provided at the Event.
6.2. Other than to the extent required as a matter of law: (i) neither TEDxLinz nor its affiliates shall be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages or losses arising directly or indirectly from the Event or other aspect related thereto or in connection with this Agreement.
6.3. By registering to the Event you release TEDxLinz from all liability relating to injuries that may occur during the whole period over which the named event takes place, on all location(s) you are physically present. By voluntarily registering to the Event you agree to hold TEDxLinz entirely free from any liability, including but not limited to financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
6.4. The maximum aggregate liability of TEDxLinz for any claim in any way connected with therewith or this Agreement whether in contract, tort or otherwise (including any negligent act or omission) shall be limited to the amount paid by you to TEDxLinz under this Agreement to attend the Event.
7. Attendance Requirements
7.1 Each Participant shall observe the rules, policies and procedures of the Event Venue including in relation to health and safety and any reasonable instructions issued by the TEDxLinz and/or employees of the venue.
7.2 Each Participant shall behave in a respectful, professional and appropriate way that does not breach the laws or regulations of their home country or of the host country or that risks bringing the Event into disrepute.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
8.1. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Austria and the parties shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Viennese courts.
